Entrevista, hecha por Kim. Qué dice que su diseñador fav es Kanye xD pobre familia
Exclusive: Kim Kardashian interviews Kylie Jenner for ES Magazine

She’s the youngest member of the world’s most famous family, whose company Kylie Cosmetics is set to turn her into a beauty billionaire.

The white hot LA sunshine is burning through the windows of Hollywood’s industrial Milk Studios...

Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner dynasty has just arrived, joined by big sister — and perhaps the most recognised of the firm — Kim Kardashian West.

Both arrive punctually (a Kardashian trademark), Kylie dressed down in a black hoodie and grey sweatpants, Kim in beige trackies. After having their hair and make-up done, the sisters curl up on a brown leather sofa in the corner of the studio — Kim shuffles her notes, poised to interview Kylie exclusively for ES Magazine.

At the tender age of 20, it has been quite the year for Kylie. She has been named one of the biggest power players in the beauty industry — Forbes estimated her net worth at $41m (£29.8m) in December 2017 — with her own Kylie Cosmetics line, which had sales last year estimated by WWD at $330m (£237m). And earlier this year she gave birth to her first child, Stormi, with long-term boyfriend and rapper, Travis Scott.

There’s a vulnerability to Kylie — she’s disarmingly pretty in the flesh — but protective Kim (midway through a 10-day cleanse) sets her at ease. Phones down and fully focused, they begin…

Kim: The early stages of motherhood are challenging. How have you gotten through it?

Kylie: It’s actually been the opposite for me. I feel like it’s just been so amazing, and so much fun. I’m learning so much more about myself and life, and it’s been such a great experience. Of course there’s hard times and stuff… even in the beginning, just not sleeping, the nights, like, baby blues… and all the ups and downs. And also even when I’m here it was so hard to leave this morning. I’m like, ‘I’ll be right back, I’m so sorry, I have to leave!’ and she doesn’t even know what’s going on. I think about her all the time, anywhere I am. I would rather be with her or wish she can come everywhere. I can’t wait till she can come everywhere with me, because right when she’s old enough I’ll bring her everywhere.

Kim: What is the inspiration for Stormi’s name?

Kylie: I really don’t know how we thought of Storm. Her dad insisted it was him, but I feel like it was me. And that kind of just stuck with us. And then I didn’t really like just Storm — I didn’t feel like that was her name. So then it became Stormi. And it just stuck. I feel like there were a lot of other names that I might have even liked better to be honest, but I feel like Stormi picked her own name, like it was just her name.

Kim: As a mother, we have anxieties about the world. What kind of world would you like Stormi to grow up in?

Kylie: She’s going to have her own challenges. I just hope that she’s strong and independent and confident.

Kim: What is the most surprising thing about being a mom, and how has your perspective changed on beauty and business since becoming a mom?

Kylie: I think more about the future because of her. Every time I leave and I’m stressed about leaving her, I’m like, ‘I’m doing it for you.’ Everyone says you change completely when you become a mom, but I really feel the same, just better. So I don’t know what really has completely changed my world, besides her, of course. But I feel like it’s only gotten better. You’re less selfish — and I actually enjoy changing diapers. It’s really satisfying. To make her clean again. And I don’t know, the whole thing is really… it’s like such an amazing experience.

Kim: As a beauty entrepreneur, why do you think Kylie Cosmetics has been such a huge success?

Kylie: It’s the most authentic thing I’ve done in my career, and it really relates to me, and I feel like people can tell that I’m super passionate about it. It came from an insecurity and I turned it into something. I was insecure about my lips, and lipstick is what helped me feel confident. And I feel like people could see that it’s authentic to me, and it was organic, and it just worked!

Kim: What is your ultimate business goal?

Kylie: I’m focused on Kylie Cosmetics and expanding that worldwide. I would love to be in stores everywhere.

Kim: What are your thoughts on plastic surgery?

Kylie: I feel like if it makes you feel better, and if that’s what you want to do, I’m not against it. Right now I probably wouldn’t do anything, actually.

Kim: You’re 20, so I hope not! We’ll talk in 20 years, and then maybe you’ll have a different answer. Is there anything you would have done differently to get to where you are today?

Kylie: I don’t feel like I ever look back and want to do things differently, because I’m so proud of where I am right now, and where we all are. So I feel like everything that happened was how it was supposed to happen.

Kim: What are the best and worst things for you about Keeping Up with the Kardashians?

Kylie: Well, the best thing is it’s the best job anyone could ever ask for — hang out with your family all day — and I think we spend so much more time together. The worst thing is maybe the moment when you shoot super personal things, and probably like, right before it comes out, and you’re letting people into your life. But then it always ends up so positive because there’s so many people going through the same things as us. So it’s like so relatable for them. And I think that’s what we’ve learned over time.

Kim: What’s the best piece of advice or mentorship you have been given, and how has it made a difference?

Kylie: It’s about work ethic — my mom really tried to instil that in me from the beginning. To be kind to everybody. And I feel like those two things have gotten me and all of us really far.

Kim: A lot of people in the UK didn’t know that you were homeschooled. Do you think it made a difference growing up, and do you feel like you missed out on anything?

Kylie: I experienced my first year in high school and after that we were working so much and missing so much school. In mathematics, you learn a new subject every single day. So it is actually less beneficial for us to be in public school because we couldn’t keep up, we weren’t learning much. So then I was homeschooled. And every single day, Monday through Friday, one on one with the teacher. So I actually learned a lot more, and it was actually harder being in home school, which I thought would be the opposite.

Kim: Do you ever wish you were born into a regular, non-famous family?

Kylie: I don’t wish I’d changed my family, because I love my family. I do think about if I didn’t have to be famous. And it’s like a fantasy sometimes, but there’s really not one problem I have. You figure out how to deal with it.

Kim: I always think that the benefits outweigh the negative things.

Kylie: I agree.

Kim: Would you ever allow Stormi to appear on reality TV?

Kylie: I have thought about it but I haven’t come to a conclusion yet.

Kim: How does fame affect your relationships?

Kylie: It’s harder to make new friends and see if people have, like, true intentions and stuff like that.

Kim: Are you particularly close to any of your siblings, or does it vary from time to time?

Kylie: It varies from time to time.

Kim: I think recently you have become closer to all the sisters, especially me and Khloé, because we were all expecting at the same time… Our daughters are two weeks apart, so that’s really cute, and they’re like best friends.

Kylie: They hang out all the time. It’s crazy how fast they grow, because Chi [pronounced ‘shy’] is just, like, two weeks older, but you can tell she’s a little bit more advanced. And then, right when Stormi hits two weeks, she’s doing the same things Chi was doing, and they’re like… it’s just crazy to see them grow up together. It was so much fun [being pregnant at the same time as Khloé]. We would just experience everything together. I was a little bit ahead of her, so we were both doing it for the first time and I would just like warn her of things that happened… the amazing things that are going on, and feeling the baby for the first time. So we would talk, like, on a daily basis about everything.

Kim: And I think you would freak Khloé out, because she was in the delivery room with you.

Kylie: I did freak her out.

Kim: And she was so freaked, that she said, ‘Hey, you guys, never should a pregnant woman be in another delivery room until it’s your time.’

Kylie: I agree with that. No. But I really needed her. I needed Khloé in the room with me. I think it made her more scared. She was there for all my other sisters. She’s just very, very nurturing. So she really helped me through the whole thing. Everyone should have Khloé in their delivery room.

Kim: Okay, what’s one thing no one knows about you?

Kylie: I have four dogs.

Kim: Who is your favourite designer?

Kylie: Easy. Kanye. He has an advanced way of thinking, and everything he makes is just innovative and cool.

Kim: And who is your favourite musician of all time?

Kylie: Probably Travis. I really love everything about it [the music]. The way it makes you feel.

Kim: His new song that’s about to come about, it is…

Kylie: With Kanye?

Kim: Yes.

Kylie: I just feel like I relate a lot to it now, and it’s just fun. And he has music for every occasion. Whether you’re just driving in the car, or you’re in the club, or… yes.

Kim: You’ve such a huge following on Instagram — what’s your secret?

Kylie: There’s a lot to it. Editing your photos, posting things people want to see. I do think there’s more to it than just posting photos. I feel like for having my Instagram for so long, I just know what people like to see.

Kim: Yes, but I think the magic is just that you’re Kylie, you know? Like, people can always say… there can be a bazillion girls that want to look like you and dress like you, but you’re Kylie. So that’s the secret sauce. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Kylie: Probably like, this place called MOD Pizza. It’s so good. It’s the best pizza you’ll ever have.

Kim: What did your last text message say?

Kylie: I think I told my security to get me apples and peanut butter!

Kim: Okay, final question: do you have any regrets in your life?

Kylie: No regrets.
